JOIN US FOR A WILD ADVENTURE
IN LIBERATING THE STORY OF LOVE
Let's tackle outdated love myths
and step into the new love story
that wants to come alive in our time.
Through creative movement, embodiment practices, storytelling, group process, and improv, we will revisit the myth of Psyche and Eros and work within it to explore how we are showing up in our relationship to love. Bringing new consciousness into the oldest human longing, we will begin forging a new path for the rising of Eros in our time.
The myth of Eros and Psyche is probably one of the Most known stories in classical mythology.
Eros, son of Aphrodite, was the personification of intense love desire and was depicted throwing arrows to people in order to hit their heart and make them fall in love.
Psyche, a maiden, personifies the human soul. Psyche, however, was distraught because not only could she not fall in love with someone, but even more surprising, nobody seemed to really fall in love with her.
Men were happy just to admire her. Then they passed by and married another girl. Psyche was the most beautiful girl on Earth, but she was sad and lonely, always admired but never really loved. It seemed that no man would want her as his wife and this caused great anxiety and distress to her parents.
In the love story of Eros (Cupid in Latin) and Psyche (meaning "soul" in Greek), we can see the perseverance of a man even when he is possessed by passion-- and the effort of a woman to overcome many obstacles in order to achieve the happiness of love.
If that is the old story...
what is the New story
of eros rising in our time?

“I’ve been walking with a heavy story, in bewilderment of how to relate to it, what to do with it, carrying a sense that it has relationship to a universal human story but not knowing where to begin. Leah helped me spell out the pieces through feeling ALIVE in the story, honoring it, bringing intention to the craft of it, and allowing it to reveal itself to us. I feel like dignity has been brought to my role in these painful stories, and I feel empowered to live in them with awareness and choice.”
